West Coast Dowsing Conference: Summer Camp for Dowsers
© Karen Ashley Tippett

Good Times With Good Friends
Remember when you were little and summer came…no school, no structure, warm weather, freedom to play as you wanted?

A bit of summer camp, lay out with friends…fun, play and you did all those goofy things like put on plays, sell lemonade, do puppet theaters, play tag, hide-and-seek, walk in the woods….

Well, you can do this as a “grown-up” too!
There is a summer camp for dowsers!  It’s called the West Coast Dowsers’ Conference.

Comments----What People Have Said

“I walked on the campus for the first time…I knew no one, yet I felt I knew everyone.  They were so friendly and warm.”

“I get my fill of hugs.”

“Wow!  There’s so much to do!  I want to do it all!”

“I come to get my ‘happy tanks’ filled.”

“Is it really over?  Do I have to leave?”

“I walked Alex’s Labyrinth with a horrible headache, when I left the Labyrinth, the headache was almost gone.”

“When I leave and for days after I have the dowsing glow.  It lasts for days, and the other people in my world say: ‘I want some of that!”

“Why do we have to wait two years before we can do this again?”   Truly, the WCC is “summer camp” for dowsers and those of consciousness and metaphysics.  You find your kindred spirits here, those who also speak your language.  We are a place where you can tell the truth about dowsing, faeries, devas, talking to the trees, clearing, rock energy, self discovery—going inward with that ‘ah ha!’ moment.  Being with a total stranger (yet not), learn a new skill, swap stories of Spirit, have an experience of who you really are and experience the same of others, not to mention being just plain silly (we do that too) and, oh yes, laugh and hug a lot.

Just because the calendar says you’re not a child anymore doesn’t mean you give up play, fun and joyous abandon.

At WCC there is something for everyone…from the serious academic learning through presentations, to taking a walk in the redwoods or wait for the faeries and orbs to show up.

The WCC started in 1982 so that ASD could have a West Coast presence.  That meant that ASD was now represented on both sides of the country.

Mary Marie Satterlee, John Wayne Blassingame, Sue Freeland, Irene and Gene Healy were the original founders.  They were all volunteers, working from their hearts.  The synergy between them continues to this day.  Today’s committee works together because we love each other and what we do.

In the years since, each new member of the committee has added more creative activities as the conference evolved to what it includes today.  Walks in the redwoods, hospitality nights, the “raffle deva,” outdoor vendor time, Fun Night, the Children’s Program, walking the labyrinths, circle dancing, photographing the orbs among happy people, it isn’t only dowsing!  We have fun, hugs and smiles.

We learn useful skills as well.  There are Basic and Advanced application dowsing schools as well.  There are presentations by expert metaphysicians and dowsers that teach what they have learned for the love of teaching what they know, sharing their learning generously.

The expert sharing/teaching continues on the plaza, in the dining hall and on the grassy hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean between presentations.

There is truly something for everyone, from the beginner to the novice to skilled practitioners seeking further learning, teaching others, all at home with kindred spirits.

You don’t have to be a dowser to join in; by the end of the weekend, you will be.  This is Summer Camp for you.  Where you will be with others like you.  And, yes, you can learn to dowse.  Presenters and attendees will convince you of it.  As you let go, the skills will download.

WHAT WE DO

Parents and grandparents and friends can bring their children and grandchildren to learn to dowse in a full-on children’s’ school.  They learn how to dowse, the power of thought, sacred geometry, animal communication, clearing, manifesting your heart’s desire, to see orbs and talk with plant and tree spirits.

Walk three different labyrinths with a transformed mind, body and spirit.
Learn to use dowsing in unique ways, converting challenging times into positive experiences.

Meditate and be part of the majestic redwoods and open vistas of the Pacific Ocean.

Take a side trip to Santa Cruz.  Enjoy the seafood on the wharf.  Visit the Boardwalk and ride one of the few wooden roller-coasters still active.

Defy gravity. See the “Mystery Spot.”  Or, walk through one or more of the three covered wooden bridges in the area that date back to the 19th century.

Be enclosed by the occasional summer fogs while singing on the plaza in a spontaneous gathering of musicians.

So many wonderful things happen at WCC between the planned events!  That is what makes WCC so unique.  The space is held for delightful experiences to be had for the entire time.

It is summer, after all.  A time to be enjoyed, even if you are busy learning, or you are silent among the breezes in the trees.  Step into our world, and know that you can bring it home with you!
